Webb Systemizer III Power Box Checkout©

In the previous CoSEIA Newsletter, I discussed how to check out the relays in the Novan DLP-20 and 2011 controllers. This brought a question from one of our members. How can you easily check out the relays in the Webb Systemizer III power box? Fortunately, this is a quick and easy thing to check. Assuming the box is mounted with the six contact terminal board at the lower right of the box, number the terminals one through six, left to right. Disconnect the wires from terminals one and two. Then, with a short piece of wire, jumper terminal one to terminal six. This should energize the K1 relay and switch power to its respective load(s). Then change the jumper to between terminals two and six. This should energize the K2 relay and switch power to its respective load(s). Each time a relay energizes, you should hear it click, assuming the noise from its respective load(s) doesn't drown out the sound. That's all there is to it. If power is switched to the loads, the power box is OK. But be very careful when you make these tests. Jumping to the wrong terminal board contacts will blowout the fuses contained within the power box.
